The purpose of the establishment of the Information Management Department of Kainan University is to strengthen the training of professional asset management talents with theoretical and practical abilities, and to inculcate the positive personality traits of humanistic care for students. Therefore, the curriculum planning of this department takes management and information skills as the core, training students to continue to learn the theory and technology of information management, and hopes that the graduates of this department will become information management talents with both theory and practice in the future.

At the beginning of the establishment of the department, Professor Xie Jingtang served as the head of the founding department. After that, Professor Liu Muxiong, Professor Zhao Kenan, Professor Qiu Ruiman, Professor Guan Mengzhong, Professor Xu Ronglong, Professor Ou Chongming and Professor Liu Zhenhao served as department heads. At present, in addition to the department head, the administrative staff has a department assistant who is responsible for all administrative tasks of the department, including educational affairs, school affairs, student affairs and administrative affairs.
